THE FAIRPLAY EXPLAINER

How Rates Work

Match information and market prices are different types of data. Here is why that distinction matters.

A score is not a price

A match score describes play on the field. A market price refers to a specific selection in a particular market at an update time. Neither can be derived responsibly from the other.

What a real rate would require

A legitimate price display would name the selection, market, trading source, currency or unit, availability state and timestamp. FairPlay has a separately computed experimental preview with named markets, selections, versions and timestamps, but no tradable rate feed or betting service.

How free-play scoring differs

Archived illustrative multipliers were teaching aids for non-redeemable practice coins. New picks are paused; these were never an offer, live rate, or promise of return.
